Help us
come home.

Not just to repair. To build what comes next.

We’re raising $500,000 to rebuild Temple Shalom and set it up for the future: a new entrance, enhanced security, and a safe home for the generations to come.

More than a building

Temple Shalom is more than a building. It is Winnipeg’s home for Reform Judaism: a community where everyone belongs, where every voice is equal, where tradition is alive and growing, and where we work together to repair the world.

There’s a place here for you.

“Many people live a Reform Jewish life without realizing it.”

Women and men lead, read Torah and take part in every part of Jewish life equally.

3

A living tradition.

Jewish practice that honours the past and grows with each generation.

4

Tikkun olam.

A commitment to repairing the world through justice, kindness and action.

Early June

A storm took our building.
Not our community.

The sanctuary after the storm, stripped to its frame

Our home After the storm

A wind and rainstorm destroyed much of the Temple. The scope of the damage is extensive. But Temple Shalom has always been its people, and we are still here: praying, singing, learning and gathering together.

  • Water poured in from the roof
  • The ceiling collapsed
  • Water penetrated the walls
  • Light fixtures exploded
  • Critical infrastructure was damaged
“Let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.”
Exodus 25:8
The vision

Reimagine. Recreate. Rebuild.

Fixing what the storm destroyed is only the start. This campaign sets Temple Shalom up for the future: a home that is open, safe and ready for the generations to come.

01 · Reimagine

A new front door.

A new, welcoming entrance that says what we believe: everyone is welcome here, whether it’s your first visit or your thousandth.

The gutted hall, ready to be reimagined
02 · Recreate

Spaces to gather.

Restoring the sanctuary and the rooms where we pray, learn, sing and celebrate simchas together.

03 · Rebuild

A safe space.

Enhanced security so Temple Shalom remains a safe place for every child, family and guest who walks through our doors.

Safe.
04 · For the next generation

L’dor v’dor.

From generation to generation. Rebuilt to last, so Reform Judaism has a home in Winnipeg for the generations to come.
